Redefining Success: 4 factors that should be intact

hmm...success... success...

Unang una sa lahat, I myself isn’t successful (YET. I know, kasi I will get there by God’s grace). So this article is probably for those na aspiring, dreaming, and craving that success like me, but ofcourse not limited to those who are there already. Ano nga ba muna ang definition ng success? What are the factors that measures success?

Many will say:

“syempre yung mayaman, yung may malaking bahay, may kotse and sunod sa layaw”

“yung may ari ng business niya, successful na businessman/businesswoman”

“yung sikat, popular, kilala ng sambayanan at iniidolo ng lahat”

kudos to those whole believe this, you're on your way

Are they right? I would say it depends. Kasi for me, those are the by-products of success.

See what I did there? “kasi FOR ME”. People have different definition of success, and usually, people equate success to prestige or luxury.

Defining success differs from person to person, so para sayo ano ang depinisyon ng tagumpay?

Kung ano man ang definition mo, always remember the following because despite defining success by your own means, the following factors are crucial of whether your “tagumpay” is authentic.

  • The Lord

This is on the number one list, because man’s chief goal is to bring glory to the Lord. So if you think that your success glorifies the Lord, then praise God and thank Jesus for getting you to where you are right now, everything we have is by grace alone. Shall hesitation comes in, might be the time to do self-assessment.

  • The Self-Fulfillment

Aanhin mo yung na-achieve mo kung walang fulfillment?  Wala, nga-nga, emptiness lang. nuff said.

Success isn't about itself, it's how you got there that gives it meaning.

  • The Way

For me this is important, kasi success doesn’t happen overnight, it’s a very long process. And once you reached that pinnacle, wala na andun ka na, you have nothing to look forward to kasi naabot mo na yung pangarap mo; the only thing you can do is look back and see how you got to where you are. If it was a meaningful journey, then your success is much sweeter;  if so then comes…

"waaaaahhh success, woooh"

  • The Joy

Usually meron nito kapag nakuha mo na yung tagumpay mo, and kung wala nito, baka wala ka pa doon or there is something wrong. And that’s why this integrates with "The Way" in number 3, kasi if your way’s end goal was to achieve success lang, then most probably you have not enjoyed the path you walked to success, and that’s a big factor to your life. Or most probably, your defining traits of success is vague or borrowed.

So how’s your road to success? What’s your current definition of success? Is the path you’re walking on makes you happy? Or are you just enduring something you don’t want to do because you belive that it will bring you closer to the pinnacle of prestige?

here's a nice take away for you guys:
